OUR ETHOS

A Commitment to Excellence in Care

At Struttons House, we believe that every child and young person deserves more than care. They deserve a home where they can grow, feel safe, and be understood. Our commitment is to provide outstanding, person-centred support that empowers each individual to flourish emotionally, socially, and academically.

Our culture of care extends through every part of Struttons House. From senior leadership to frontline staff, we share one purpose: to enrich the lives of the young people we support. With over two decades of collective experience, our team draws on proven methods and compassionate practice to ensure each placement is stable, nurturing, and filled with opportunity.

We take pride in our collaborative approach. Working closely with local authorities, families, and multidisciplinary professionals, we build tailored care plans that reflect each young person’s strengths, goals, and needs. Using Person-Centred Active Support and Positive Behavioural Strategies, we focus on ability, potential, and independence, helping every individual gain the skills to live more confidently and with greater self-belief.

Investing in People to Inspire Better Care

Exceptional care begins with exceptional people. At Struttons House, our team is at the heart of everything we do. We recruit individuals who share our values of empathy, respect, and commitment to personal growth.

Our selection process is thorough and transparent, including competency-based interviews, reference checks, and enhanced DBS clearance to ensure that only the most capable and compassionate professionals join our team.

We believe that when staff feel supported, valued, and inspired, they deliver their best. That is why we invest heavily in ongoing development and training. Every team member has access to structured career pathways, industry-recognised qualifications, and hands-on learning delivered by our in-house training partners.

Our training programme covers essential areas including Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Positive Behavioural Support, First Aid, Child Protection, and Epilepsy Care. Each course is CPD accredited, ensuring that our workforce remains current, confident, and skilled in the latest standards of residential childcare practice.

We also encourage reflective learning and team collaboration, ensuring that new insights and best practices are continuously integrated into daily care. This investment has resulted in exceptional staff retention, high morale, and a strong sense of shared purpose that directly benefits the children and young people we support.
